This plant is known by other names such as: limaran, moringa, ben-oil (from oil that can be extracted from the seeds), drumstick (from the shape of its long and slender seed house), horseradish tree (from the shape of its roots similar to horseradish), and malunggay in the Philippines.
Moringa is a plant that can grow quickly, live long, bloom all year round, and withstand extreme heat conditions.
The plant is native to the tropics and subtropics of South Asia. This plant is commonly used to be food and medicine in Indonesia Moringa seeds are also used as small-scale water purifiers.
